Las Vegas, Nev. --- The D2 Vegas Showdown concluded today with a breakfast banquet, which included presentation of tournament awards. Both the men's and women's teams at the University of Sioux Falls were presented with the trophy for the team championships and a five-person "all-tournament team" for the men and women were announced.

After breakfast was served, the men's coach from William Jewell College, Larry Holley, gave a speech explaining how the D2 Vegas Showdown came about, as well as the connection between William Jewell College and many of the coaches and schools participating. Coach Holley also recognized the history and tradition of all the schools in attendance, highlighting various aspects with trivia questions.

The president of Trip Sports, Todd Utrup, followed Coach Holley with the presentation of awards. The Cougars from the University of Sioux Falls won each side of the event by defeating McKendree University and William Jewell College. Each team was presented an award for their achievement.

Vanessa Johnson and Nick Larson were then recognized as the "Most Outstanding Player" for the women's and men's side, respectively. Johnson averaged 16.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game. Larson led all scorers with 25 points per game, while contributing 11.5 rebounds per game.
