Team travel

Why Trip Sports

Start with the trip itself. Then look at who carries the hassle so your coaches can coach.

Why travel at all

The case for getting on the road comes before the case for any company. A trip changes recruiting, the people around the team, the locker room, and the way you play when conference season arrives.

Recruiting

A trip a recruit can picture

Every recruit is drawn to a program that travels. Film is easy to watch from anywhere. A trip is harder to fake: a week with the team, games that matter, a city that is not campus. Whether they live nearby or across the country, the fact that you go is the pitch.

If you recruit nationally, the trip does a second job. You can tell a player they may get to play close to home someday — because the program actually travels. Stay-home teams recruit the neighborhood. Road teams can recruit the country and mean the hometown line.

The memories that last are off the court

Practice builds habits. A trip builds the stories. The delayed flight, the late meal after the game, the card game that starts in the hotel lobby and does not end — those are the memories players keep after the season is over.

Shared travel puts the roster in the same unfamiliar place and asks them to look after each other. The bonds that last are usually made away from the gym.

Momentum you can take into conference play

Conference play rewards teams that have already been in a fight. A trip puts you in a different gym, against a different style, with a crowd that is not yours. You find out what travels.

The momentum you want in January is easier to trust when the team has already won — and lost — somewhere else. Different locales and different opponents are the point of going.

Life experience

A first flight. A first look at the ocean.

A few athletes may never have been on a plane. Some may never have seen the ocean. For those players, a college basketball trip is often the first time. That is not a side effect. It is part of what you give a student-athlete who might not get that week any other way.

They come home with a game on the film and a story that has nothing to do with the score. The trip is one of the reasons they will remember the program.

Parents, fans, and the season

A week the whole program looks forward to

Parents, fans, players, and staff all get excited for the same week. The trip is not another Saturday. It is the week the program looks forward to — parents planning around it, players talking about it in the locker room, fans making the trip, and staff building the year toward it.

The people who go come home and tell it to the people who could not. Years later the group still dates stories by that week. A program that travels has a landmark everyone around the team can name.

On the road

We run the trip so your staff do not have to.

What we take on

The work named. Planning, the hotel, the rides, the games, the people on site, and one place the traveling party looks.

Travel planning

We handle the planning with the hotel, the ground transportation, and the competition. Your staff are not running three searches and stitching them into a week.

Hotels

We use hotels that put meals, shops, and what a team needs within walking distance. The ordinary day stays on foot, close to where the team is staying.

Ground transportation

Large motorcoaches cover all the transportation we provide, with the safety and security a traveling party needs. That eliminates the hassle of renting vans, and nobody on your staff has to chase eligible drivers or get behind the wheel.

Game operations

We handle game scheduling as an unbiased third party. The week is built to be fair, not tilted toward one program.

Our hospitality

More than 25 years on the road. When something comes up, Trip Sports staff are on site at the hotel and at the facility.

One platform

Parents, fans, players, and other team roles stay in the conversation you choose. The platform is ours. You share what you want each group to see, and you keep control of it.

One Trip Sports place can keep coaches, players, and parents informed. We build the base of the plan. The head coach chooses whether to share it.
